DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN?

Ten Thousand of these fliers were passed out recently at a conference in London.

Anything in this that sounds vaguely familiar?

An honest Board of Directors goes a long way towards safe-guarding your investment in BCC.

Demand honest elections and open bidding on BCC projects... or, suffer the consequences.

Although this flyer is rather "hype-y", it DOES point out a very real problem with condos in general - and BCC in particular.

The residents (the Association) are at the mercy of the Board that is in charge. In our case, 640 units are being run - BADLY - by only FIVE people, who do NOT appear to have our best interests at heart.

They are supposed to be our representatives, but they don't really represent what WE want.

If a condo is run badly (and the word gets out and around), people will steer clear of buying in that complex. Consequently, unit values will drop. When the price goes down, it's tempting to buy at a "good price". But here we have a flyer warning foreign buyers and investors to STAY AWAY FROM FLORIDA CONDOS - and with good reason.

Our F.S.718 State condo laws are GOOD, but the enforcement of those laws by the DBPR and Tallahassee is woefully lacking. The Ombudsman has no real authority either. When a complaint is made, a letter will go out to the Board, who get the lawyer to twist it and put a "good face" on it and at the most, a slight slap on the wrist is all the Board receives. Our condo governing authorities have NO TEETH - they DON'T enforce the law and the Boards go merrily on their way, thumbing their noses at the law.

We have an Election coming up in February. We are seeking residents' signatures for a Petition for a Government Election Monitor to oversee it so that we don't have the Voter Fraud we had two years ago that put this despicable Board in power.

We MUST "CLEAN HOUSE" and put in a Board that is more honest, more open and more representative for the residents and treats the employees fairly. We need a Board that does not commit fraud upon fraud and waste our maintenance money.

I intend to run in the upcoming Election and I would appreciate your vote.
